Nutrition & Wellness

The Area Agency on Aging administers a contract with various agencies to provide nutrition and wellness programs. These programs offer a place where participants can engage in community services that can help them stay healthy and independent by offering a wide variety of programs and services, including Meals and Nutrition Programs, Social & Recreational Activities, Wellness Programs, Transportation Services, and Senior Center Volunteer Programs.

These programs are available through senior centers in the following counties in our service area: Cleburne, Fulton, Independence, Izard, Jackson, Sharp, Stone, Van Buren, White, and Woodruff.

Congregate noontime meals are served at most of the centers Monday through Friday.

Home Delivered Meals are taken to those unable to leave their homes due to illness, disability or frailty and meet the eligibility requirements.

Menus are approved by a registered dietitian and provide 1/3 of the U.S. Recommended Daily Allowance (RDA) and comply with Arkansas’ Division of Aging & Adult Services standards.
